Please find the attached flyer for C.E. Byrd’s annual Fall Poster Session for AP Research, part of the AP Capstone program, next Wednesday, November 1 from 8:30-10:30 AM in the C.E. Byrd Learning Center. In the AP Research course, students select one topic for inquiry for the whole year, engage in an exhaustive literature review of the field, develop an original, previously unanswered research question, devise a method, collect and analyze data to draw conclusions, and produce a scholarly academic paper of 4,000-5,000 words along with a presentation and oral defense. One of the keys to Byrd’s success in the AP Capstone program is providing students with opportunities to receive critical feedback on their chosen topics and research questions. Our fall poster night will give students the chance to present their proposed research study to other faculty, students, administrators, central office staff, and family and allows for feedback that pushes our students to critically assess their own work and develop an awareness of the strengths and limitations of their research plans and to see the pitfalls and obstacles in their research and create paths to success. Please stop by for this come-and-go event on Wednesday, November 1 from 8:30-10:30 AM in the C.E. Byrd Learning Center to hear about the incredible research our students are pursuing!

Parent Survey – As a part of the Caddo Parish Public Schools strategic plan, school climate is a critical part of academic success. School climate at all schools will be assessed via the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and The PBIS School Climate Survey. Surveys will assess school connectedness, adult social support, social/civic learning, physical environment, school safety, and order/discipline. It is vital that all staff members complete the survey below. Thank you so much. I know your time is valuable. It does not take very long to complete.
