Youth and Government- MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Our debates for this semester will be Wednesday 10/15, Wednesday 10/29, and Wednesday 11/12. All meetings will begin promptly at 7:45 AM in the Learning Center.
College representatives will be available outside the cafeteria on the following dates:
Mississippi State University – October 20
Baylor University- October 21
LSUS – October 23
The Northwest Louisiana Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Awareness will take place at 9am on October 18 at Betty Virginia Park. Register at afsp.org/nwla
Caddo Parish is hosting a College Fair on October 22. College representatives from across Louisiana and surrounding states will be in attendance to answer questions about their schools and the application process. The event will be held at the Centenary Gold Dome 10:15-11:30. Students must travel by Caddo Parish school bus. Please pick up a field trip form in the Counseling Office and return it no later than 4pm on October 13.
In celebration of October as National Manufacturing Month, Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology is hosting the 8th Annual Engineering Technology Symposium & Manufacturing Day for high school students.
The event will take place October 17, 2025 from 8:00 AM – Noon at the NSU Student Union in Natchitoches.
• Regional industry experts will present insights on manufacturing systems and explore potential career pathways
• Hands-on activities – line simulations

ACT fee waivers are available in the Counseling Office for juniors and seniors who meet the criteria for free/reduced lunch. Students can apply for free lunch at myschoolapps.com. Students are eligible for 4 fee waivers during their junior and senior years. When registering for the ACT with a fee waiver, students receive free ACT prep available through their ACT accounts. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.
LSUS Dual Enrollment applications are available for students enrolled in the following courses for fall semester:
Advanced Math- Bailey
AP Statistics- Bailey
English IV AP- Carberry
Human Anatomy- Strong
Precalculus- French
Physics- Jefferson
Students can pick up detailed application instructions from these teachers, or the Counseling Office.
Art Club is now accepting applications. Art club is a service club & if you would like to join, pick up an application outside of B7 or B4 in the basement. All applications and fee are due to an art teacher by the end of the day October 31st! The fee for Art Club is $10 and is available to pay online. Drop your applications and paid receipt to an art teacher!
