It’s time to join PTSA!

3. Select C.E. Byrd High School PTSA and Press SAVE and that’s it!

There will be some dress code changes for the 24-25 school year:

  1. No hoodies will be allowed at school. This is for the entire year.
  2. When it’s cold, wear a coat. A knit cap will be permitted. It must be taken off when entering the building, and cannot be worn when it’s not cold.
  3. When it rains, it’s ok to wear a rain coat with a hood, but the rain coat will need to be removed when students enter the building.
  4. Body suits will be prohibited.
  5. Blankets are prohibited.
  6. Unsafe foot ware such as house shoes are prohibited
Students – Starting Monday, July 29th, we will begin to make School ID’s. All students are required to replace their ID’s this year.  If you come in and BRING YOUR OLD ID with you, we will make you a new ID for free. If you have lost your ID, you will have to pay $5.00 for a new one. All New Students will have to pay for an ID. Only 1 ID will be issued. The times of operation for this is 8 – 11:30 and 1 – 3:00.  The only day the hours will be different is Wednesday, July 31st and it will start at 8:30 am.

 

Parking Spots – If you have purchased a parking pass or a reserved parking spot, please see the bookkeeper to pick it up. If you have not paid for your reserved spot, please do so as the deadline to purchse the reserved spot is August 7th. 

Byrd Students – Are your drawers overflowing with old Byrd T-shirts? Well, we have a solution! Donate any gently used Byrd T-shirt for the 4th Annual Byrd Vintage Shirt Sale! All students will have a chance to purchase these shirts for $5 each during Celebrate the City on August 1 at 4pm. T-shirt donations can be dropped off at Byrd 8:30-3:30 M-F in the counselor’s office or the main office. Please put Mrs. Jana Panos’ name on the donation bag or box. Thank you!

 

Back to School Dance – Hey Jackets! Mark your calendars for our Back to School Dance, Dancing Through The Decades, to be held Friday, August 16th. All classes, including incoming freshmen, are invited! Tickets will go on sale before school starts.

 

Seniors– Shortly after graduation, your Caddo Google account will be deleted. If you want to keep any of your documents, you will need to COPY YOUR FILES TO A PRIVATE ACCOUNT. Instructions are available on the Class of 2024 counseling Canvas page.

Student Opportunity – The application for the Allied Health Education and Discovery (AHEAD) Program is open for Summer 2024! The AHEAD Program is a 5-day summer program for Louisiana high school students interested in exploring the health career programs offered at LSU Health Shreveport – School of Allied Health Professions: Medical Laboratory Scientist, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Physician Assistant, Public Health Professional, Respiratory Therapist and Speech-Language Pathologist
Program Dates 2024:
• Session 2: July 8 – 12, 2024, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

 


Scholarships & Contests

Scholarship – Class of 2024 Lela’s $1000 FAFSA Completion Scholarship application for the Class of 2024 is now available for those who plan to apply for college financial aid by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

 

Schoolhouse Connection’s Youth Leadership Program Scholarship is available for students who have experienced homelessness in the last 6 years. 

  • Applicants must reside in the United States.
    Note: undocumented applicants are eligible.
  • Applicants must be born on or after November 24, 2003.
  • Applicants must begin college (four year, community college, or trade school) for the first time in 2024 (not including dual-enrollment courses).

A SchoolHouse Connection Scholar Will Receive:

  • $2,500 Scholarship Award
  • One-on-One Support from SchoolHouse Connection Staff
  • Three All-Expenses-Paid Trips
  • Support from SchoolHouse Connection Scholars

Senior Information

Seniors – Updated transcripts are now available in the Counseling Office. Each student will receive a copy of the transcript during Senior Orientation in English IV classes. If you need one prior to that visit, you can pick one up in the Counseling Office. Transcripts and transcript information cannot be e-mailed or provided over the telephone.  All public colleges and universities in Louisiana have access to transcripts and you should not have to send them. If they tell you they cannot access the transcript, or if you need to send a transcript to a private school within Louisiana, or any school outside of Louisiana, you will need to complete the transcript request form at  https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/26815. Make sure you submit payment and complete the google form on that page.  Students applying to colleges through the Common App do not have to complete the transcript request form. The transcript will be uploaded on the Common App portal.
