Seniors if you purchased your magnet stole, please remember to come by the Counseling Office during lunch to pick it up.
Juniors – If you have signed up for Junior Ring Ceremony, and you did not order your ring from Graduate Sales, you must turn your ring in to the Main Office this week. It must be in a ring box with your first and last name clearly printed on a label taped on top.
Lady Jacket Volleyball tryouts will be held TODAY (5:00-7:00 pm) in the Main Gym. You must have an up-to-date physical to try out, you can sign up using the QR codes around the school. If you have any questions you can stop by Ms. Saulsbury’s room 115.
Students – Mr. Badgley said there will be no more checkouts after 3:30 p.m. for the rest of the school year.
Student Council membership for the 2022-2023 school year is posted outside of Mrs. Carberry’s room, room 202. Members MUST sign to verify membership and sign the Use of Club Fees forms in Mrs. Carberry’s room. Membership must be verified by May 20.

Astra Club – Voting for Astra Club officers will take place on May 16 – 20.
Students – The 2022 session of Louisiana Girls State will take place on June 19-25 at Northwestern State University. CLICK HERE for a flyer with all of our 2022 program’s information. If you are finishing the 11th grade and would like to attend you may sign up online. It’s a great experience. Boys and Girls State – Any 11th graders who are interested in attending Boys’ or Girls’ State, please see Mrs. Prothro ASAP. The deadline is coming up. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity that is recognized nationally. See Mrs. Prothro for more information.
Students – Are your drawers overflowing with old Byrd T-shirts? Well, we have a solution! Donate any gently used Byrd T-shirt for the 2nd Annual Byrd Vintage Shirt Sale! All students will have a chance to purchase these shirts during Celebrate the City. There is a collection box located in Mrs. Prothro’s office.

Student Opportunities:
St. Paul’s Day School will honor seniors on May 16 at 9:20 am. There will be a senior recognition chapel with donuts and a reunion on the lawn.
Students – Calling the Class of ‘22 Southfield School Alumni! You are invited back to Southfield School for our annual Final Flag and Alumni Breakfast on Thursday, May 19 at 8:15am. Students – There will be a 5th Grade Class Reunion for graduating seniors and teachers at Eden Gardens Magnet on Tuesday, May 24 from 4:00-5:00 pm. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – You must provide your own transportation. You cannot miss any tests, class projects or EOC tests, and you must not be on the Debt List.

The Willis-Knighton Cancer Center is hosting a Cancer Survivor Carnival Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 2:00-4:00. I would like to see if the Astra Club would help us make this day special for our survivors. We need help with supplies and volunteers the day of the event to manage the games. Please let me know if the Astra Club will be available to help us celebrate our Cancer Survivors on June 5th. Please call or email Mrs. Stevens if you can volunteer.
