Students – Pictures will be taken today during your English class for Freshmen and Sophomores and tomorrow will be Juniors and Seniors – if Seniors didn’t take a senior picture this summer. Order envelopes are due back the day you take your picture. CLICK HERE for “How to Order” or see below.
PSAT – The PSAT will be given at Byrd on Tuesday, October 26. This is a College Board exam that gives 10th and 11th grade students an opportunity to check their progress towards college readiness. It also provides practice for the SAT. For 11th grade students, PSAT scores are used to screen for candidates for the National Merit Scholarship Program Competition. Participation in PSAT testing is voluntary. Students planning to test must register by paying the $17 test fee. The deadline to pay the fee is Monday, September 27th. Payment can be submitted online on PayForIt.net or to Marilyn Prothro in the counseling office. There is no makeup for this exam. The exam fee is non-refundable.

ANNOUNCEMENT: After the Labor Day weekend, Caddo Parish Schools and Ochsner LSU Health will begin COVID-19
testing in all Caddo Parish Schools. Tests are strictly voluntary! This particular test is a non-invasive test
that will be administered in the presence of trained personnel.

Students – AUDITIONS for our fall play, Murder on the Orient Express will be September 14 and 15, at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. Stop by Mr. Williams’ Room (200 in the main building) for audition information.

Swim Team- Any student interested in joining the Byrd Swim team, please contact Coach Steve Carter at stephenrcarter@bellsouth.net or 318-572-9560. The first swim meet is August 31st, and physical packets for LHSAA must be completed before a swimmer can swim in the meet.
