The Louisiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council (LYAC) is now accepting applications for membership from high school students who have an interest in representing the voices of other young people around the state. JUNIORS – The deadline for students placing orders for class rings will be Thursday, at 5 pm. Orders can be placed online at www.balfour.com or at the Graduate Sales Office located at 2285 Benton Road, Suite D 105, Bossier City LA 71111 (Office hours are Monday thru Thursday 2-5 pm) Phone or text 318-549-0082.
AP Exams fee reminder – Fee notification letters were mailed to parents in December. Exam fees are now being accepted. Payment for students qualified for free/reduced-price lunch should be paid in the counseling office to Ms. Eason. All other students must submit payment on payforit.net. The deadline for payment is TODAY. Exam orders will be canceled for any fee not paid by TODAY.
Upcoming Deadlines:
Presidential Volunteer Service Award – Any student who has 100 or more volunteer service hours from March 1, 2020, to March 1, 2021, is eligible for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. The hours can be school-related, community activities, church activities, mission trips, etc. Completed volunteer activity sheets must be submitted to Mrs. Prothro by MONDAY. Students – C.E. Byrd’s literary magazine, Perspectives, is now accepting entries. Students are encouraged to submit their original short stories, poems, or one-act plays for consideration for publication; visual art is also welcome. The topic and format are left to your imagination! All accepted entries will be published in a hard-copy magazine in May of 2021.
