Dual Enrollment – Dual enrollment applications are now available for LSUS Spring semester. Students in the following courses can apply: AP Biology- Wrobel, Human Anatomy or Medical Terminology next semester- White, Fine Arts Survey, Advanced Math- Sermons, PreCalculus, Statistics, and AP Calculus- Algood only, Physics Honors and AP Physics- Jefferson. Instructions are available on the Class of 2021 or Class of 2022 Counseling pages. Please read the information carefully and complete all required steps. The deadline to apply is January 11. Youth and Government – Please come by S306 and pick up your club t-shirt! Our next debate is TODAY at 7:45 am in the AUDITORIUM! There is a limit of 50 people max so be there early!

Horticulture and Environmental Club will meet TOMORROW morning at 8:00 am to transplant cuttings before the holiday.  We may need Thursday morning as well.

9^th Graders – If you are interested in applying to be a Lyle Leader, please complete the application, and return to Mrs. Prothro by TOMORROW Lyle Leaders is an organization unique to Byrd that participates in leadership activities and service activities from 9^th-12^th grades.  The organization was begun by one of our Hall of Fame Alumni Association members with a $100,000 donation to the school.

Attention Senior Parents – C. E. Byrd’s counselors have partnered with Career Compass of La to work one-on-one with our seniors to equip them with regionally-relevant workforce and post-secondary information. They offer assistance with college applications, FAFSA completion, Career Interest Inventories, and ACT/SAT sign-up, scholarship information, etc.  Please make sure your student completed the survey using the following link https://6aar0wva.paperform.co.

You must complete one of the following financial aid steps IN ORDER TO GRADUATE: (1) Complete the FAFSA (available at fafsa.gov). This is your TOPS application, an application for federal grants and student loans; (2) Complete the Louisiana TOPS form – if you are not completing the FAFSA (available at mylosfa.la.gov);  (3) A parent or legal custodian, or a student legally emancipated or of the legal age of majority, may certify a waiver in writing to the LEA (See Mrs. Byrd for this form).  Only one step is required, you do not have to complete the FAFSA and the TOPS form. The FAFSA is also the TOPS application.  The FAFSA application is now available. The FAFSA Completion Guide is available on the Class of 2021 Canvas page.
