Seniors – Class of 2021

You must complete one of the following financial aid steps IN ORDER TO GRADUATE:

  • Complete the FAFSA (available at fafsa.gov) This is your TOPS application, as application for federal grants and student loans.
  • Complete the Louisiana TOPS form- if you are not completing the FAFSA (available at mylosfa.la.gov)
  • A parent or legal custodian, or a student legally emancipated or of the legal age of majority, may certify a waiver in writing to the LEA (See Mrs. Byrd for this form)
  • Only one step is required- you do not have to complete the FAFSA and the TOPS form. The FAFSA is also the TOPS application.

Senior Information

Seniors – LifeShare Blood Center now offers a Phlebotomy School. Licensed by the Louisiana Board of Regents, this fast-paced, six-week course is perfect for the student interested in working while attending the program or for the student who wants to enter the healthcare profession shortly after high school graduation. University bound students looking to work in the medical field while attending school may also be interested. The next class begins June 1st, applications, tuition and more information may be found at www.lifeshare.org/phlebotomyschool. Senior Graduation Information – Due to the many restrictions placed on visitors this year, ordering your graduation supplies is now being handled online or in person at Graduate Sales, 3524 Youree Drive, phone 318-865-0409.  Their online website is graduatesalesyouree.com and office hours are Monday – Friday 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

Seniors – Several new scholarships have been posted to the Class of 2021 Canvas page. Be sure to check your announcements and the general scholarship module for these and other scholarship opportunities.

Attention Senior ParentsC. E. Byrd’s counselors have partnered with Career Compass of La to work one-on-one with our seniors to equip them with regionally-relevant workforce and post-secondary information. They offer assistance with college applications, FAFSA completion, Career Interest Inventories, and ACT/SAT sign-up, scholarship information, etc.  Please make sure your student completed the survey using the following link https://6aar0wva.paperform.co.

All seniors need to complete the Career Compass assignment on the Canvas Class of 2021 assignment page or by following this link: https://6aar0wva.paperform.co/  There is a video introducing Career Compass and a short form to complete when you are finished. This should take less than 5 minutes.

Transcripts are now available. If you need a transcript for a scholarship application, please see Mrs. Byrd in the counseling office. If you need to send a transcript to a college for admissions application, go to cebyrd.com and complete the transcript request form. Click student life, then seniors. The cost to mail your transcript is $5. Please keep in mind, you should not have to mail your transcript to a Louisiana public college or university. They have access to transcripts through the Student Transcript System (STS). If they are unable to access your records, you will have to complete the transcript request form.
