Congratulations to the C.E. Byrd Boys and Girls Golf Teams for winning the 2022 Regional tournaments. The boys shot a combined -2 and will compete in the State tournament next week in New Iberia. Sydney Moss was the individual medalist for the girls and their team will compete in Lafayette next week. Good Luck on the course Jackets!!!
TONIGHT is the great Buzz Fest annual skit and talent show that we know won’t disappoint! Come out this evening at 6:30 to see our amazing students perform. Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased at locallevelevents.com.

Gusher – Do you want to be a part of the award winning Gusher staff? Applications for the 2022-2023 school year can be found outside Ms. Saulsbury’s Room 115. Applications need to be returned by TODAY and interviews will be held in May.
Juniors – The Junior Ring Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 17. If you would like to participate, you must sign up on local level events by TODAY. Participation fee is $10 which gets you four tickets. Pick up your information sheet in Room S-105. Check your Canvas page for complete information.
Presidential Volunteer Service Award Recipients – There will be a luncheon in your honor TODAY at 12:00 p.m. in the Learning Center. Your first-hour teacher will have a form for you to complete, and return to Mrs. Prothro. CLICK HERE to view list.

Astra Club – 9th -11th Grades – It is time to join Astra Club for the 2022-2023 school year. It is also time to sign up to run for office. You may pick up a form to join Astra in Mrs. Prothro’s office. You must be a member in order to run for an

Lyle Leaders – Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Lyle Leaders are eligible to participate in a Historic Tour of Shreveport on Friday May 6th from 8:30 am til 2 pm. We will tour Historic neighborhoods, visit museums and explore cemeteries to discover the significance of our city’s history. You cannot miss any scheduled testing and must be cleared from debt list. Please check your schedules before committing to the trip. Seating is limited, first come, first served. Permission slips are outside Ms. Waters’ Rm S112 or see Mrs. Prothro. Permission forms must be turned in by TODAY to Mrs. Waters.
Students – Mr. Badgley said there will be no more checkouts after 3:30 p.m. for the rest of the school year.
Boys and Girls State – Any 11th graders who are interested in attending Boys’ or Girls’ State, please see Mrs. Prothro ASAP. The deadline is coming up. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity that is recognized nationally. See Mrs. Prothro for more information.
AP Exams will be given following the schedule created by College Board which is May 2 through May 12. A list of students scheduled to test with testing locations has been sent to teachers. Most exams are at least 3 hours long and will begin at 8 am or 12 pm. Additional time is needed for seating, providing instructions and for breaks. Students should report to their testing location 15 minutes prior to the exam time – 7:45 AM for morning exams and 11:45 AM for afternoon exams. Late arrivals will not be allowed to test. Any student absent from an AP exam will be charged a $40 return test fee, per test. Email Penny Eason, the AP Coordinator, if you have questions.
Students – If you are interested in joining High Life, please come to room S301 to pick up an application.
Students – All yearbook layaways must be paid off by May 6. You may pay them in Room 115.

Fairfield Elementary Magnet Alumni Senior Class of 2022 – There will be a 5th-grade class reunion for students and teachers on Fairfield Magnet school grounds on Friday, May 6 from 3:30-5:30 pm. We will celebrate with pizza and cupcakes. Then we will reminisce by looking through old yearbooks and by watching our 5th grade DVD @ 5:00. We know this is an extremely busy time of year, but we hope everyone can make it for a few moments of fun!
