Prom Contracts are available outside the main office.  Remember they must be completed and signed by your parent before being brought to the bookkeepers office.  Once the bookkeepers verify you are not on the debt list they will sign your contract and enter your information on the computer so you are able to purchase tickets. Prom will be held on SATURDAY so get your contract today!

Astra Club – 9th-11th Grades – It is time to join Astra Club for the 2022-2023 school year.  It is also time to sign up to run for office.  You may pick up a form to join Astra in Mrs. Prothro’s office.  You must be a member in order to run for an office.  You may sign up to run for office from today until Friday, April 29.   Voting will be May 3-6. Students –We will have a 1970s Disco Karaoke Event featuring the music and performers of Mamma Mia! as well as open mike karaoke for everyone to sing their heart out to their favorite 70s tunes from 4:00 until 6:30 tonight. Later, in the evening we will have some more current Pop Music.  We will have food, games, a 70’s costume competition, and lots of prizes!  Beverages will be bottled water and soft drinks.  This will be a lot of fun for the entire school, so please come out and join us in the courtyard by Jack’s Java and the Cafeteria.  The event is sponsored/supported by Byrd Drama, PTSA, Key Club, Astra, Cheer, and Art Clubs.

Students – If you are interested in joining High Life, please come to room S301 to pick up an application.

Seniors – Please submit up to THREE pictures for the Senior Slideshow on the last day of school. The deadline for picture submission is April 26. Send your pictures together in one email to byrdseniorclass@gmail.com. Pictures are best when they are high school pictures – 9th through 12th grade – and when they are group pictures. Please DO NOT submit baby pictures! Pictures should be school appropriate, or they will not be in the slideshow.

Juniors – The Junior Ring Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 17.  If you would like to participate, you must sign up on local level events by Friday, April 29.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award Recipients – There will be a luncheon in your honor on Friday, April 29, at 12:00 p.m. in the Learning Center.  Your first-hour teacher will have a form for you to complete, and return to Mrs. Prothro.

Students – AP CAPSTONE Graduation Honor Cords are now available for purchase on Local Level Events (https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/20187) The AP Capstone Cord is for graduating seniors who have taken and completed BOTH AP Seminar AND AP Research. Cords will be given out at Senior Honors Assembly.

Student Job Opportunity – Kumon Math and Reading Center

Seniors – Did you attend University Elementary?  If so, please see Mrs. Prothro.  They have asked you to come to their 5th-grade celebration on April 22.  You will be excused from school.

Fairfield Elementary Magnet Alumni Senior Class of 2022 – There will be a 5th-grade class reunion for students and teachers on Fairfield Magnet school grounds on Friday, May 6 from 3:30-5:30 pm.  We will celebrate with pizza and cupcakes. Then we will reminisce by looking through old yearbooks and by watching our 5th grade DVD @ 5:00.  We know this is an extremely busy time of year, but we hope everyone can make it for a few moments of fun!

Students – There will be a 5th Grade Class Reunion for graduating seniors and teachers at Eden Gardens Magnet on Tuesday, May 24 from 4:00-5:00 pm. We will catch up with each other, watch our 5th-grade finale video, tour the school, and enjoy refreshments. We look forward to welcoming our eagles back to the nest- we sure hope you can join us!
