PTSAByrdBlastByrd High School, PTSA Byrd Blast

There will be a mandatory JV Cheer tryout meeting Tuesday, February 10th at 5:30pm in the learning center.

 

 

Renaissance Honor Roll Party will be today  in the Learning Center during both lunch shifts. Students with all “A”s from 2nd 9 weeks in the fall get pizza and a full-sized candy bar. Students with all “A”s and “B”s from 2nd 9 weeks in the fall get a full-sized candy bar.

 

 

It is time to pay for your SPRING AP exams! You must complete the google form by February 20. The deadline to pay on Local Level is February 25.

 

 

Byrd Unplugged Tryouts with now be held Feb 9th and 10th in Room 116 from 4-5:30 pm. Voice, Music, Dance, Poetry, Comedy, Spoken Word, Rap, BeatBox, and more. All Acts are welcome.

 

 

All Byrd Youth and Government members need to come pick up their club t-shirt from S306 ASAP!!

 

 

The Gayarre History Club will host our 14th annual conference on March 31, 2026. This year’s theme is TIPPING POINT.

The club invites any student interested in researching, writing, and presenting a historical paper to an audience of their peers and area academics to submit a proposal of their research. Check out the flyers posted around campus or ask Mr. or Mrs. Lary (room 220 or S209) for details. Submissions and additional information can be found on GAYARRE.ORG. Deadline to submit is FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6. 

 

 

Louisiana Tech Dual Enrollment applications are available for students enrolled in the following courses for spring quarter:

English III Honors with Mrs. Waxham

English III GT with Mrs. Smith

English IV E with Ms. Williams

European History with Mr. Lary

Students can pick up detailed application instructions from these teachers, or the Counseling Office.

The following fees apply:

  • Tuition-$300/college course (paid by Byrd as long as funds are available. Priority will be given to students who have not taken dual enrollment courses this school year. Additional tuition costs will be paid on a first come-first served basis. Students will be notified if a tuition payment is due to Louisiana Tech and will be able to opt out or pay the $300 tuition cost)
  • $20 application fee is required once each academic year (paid by student to Louisiana Tech)
  • $30 packet fee is required for English courses (paid by student to C.E. Byrd)

The deadline to apply and submit documents to the Counseling Office is Friday, February 6 at 4pm.
