Senior Graduation Information – Due to the many restrictions placed on visitors this year, ordering your graduation supplies are now being handled online or in person at Graduate Sales, 3524 Youree Drive, phone 318-865-0409. Their online website is graduatesalesyouree.com and office hours are Monday – Friday 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
Yearbooks – January is the last month to purchase your 2021 Gusher yearbook. They can be purchased in room 115 or through Payforit for $65 or placed on layaway for $10. Don’t miss out!
Students – Entries for the Fighting Hate for Good Art and Poetry Contest are due to Mrs. Prothro by March 19th. See your English teacher for details.
Presidential Volunteer Service Award – Any student who has 100 or more volunteer service hours from March 1, 2020, to March 1, 2021, is eligible for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. The hours can be school-related, community activities, church activities, mission trips, etc. Completed volunteer activity sheets must be submitted to Mrs. Prothro by Monday, March 1, 2021. Fighting Hate for Good Art & Poetry Contest – In honor of the ADL’s central mission “to secure justice and fair treatment for all,” the South Central Region is holding our eighth annual Fighting Hate for Good Art and Poetry Contest for all No Place for Hate® schools in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. It is my hope that this contest-which can qualify as a No Place for Hate activity-will be a meaningful way for your school to participate in ADL’s work of creating a world that respects and encourages diversity. The Catholic Youth Leadership scholarship application is available online at http://www.louisianakc.org/programs/cyla/. The CYLA will award a scholarship to one senior Catholic boy and one senior catholic girl that exemplify leadership and catholic values. The deadline to apply is January 25th.
The Thomas McElroy scholarship application is available at cfnla.org. Click on COMMUNITY then choose SCHOLARSHIPS. You will need to create an online account to complete the scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship awarded to one student who plans to major in Science or Engineering. Students must have 3.0/4.0 gpa and successfully complete Calculus and Physics while in high school. The deadline is January 31st.
