Pep Squad – Our first pep squad fitting is TODAY from 4:30-6:00 pm in the Learning Center on the kings highway side of the school. Price for this years squad will be 550$ and will be on local level. Please email Coach Duncan mduncan@caddoschools.org for any questions.

GusherDo you want to be a part of the award winning Gusher staff? Applications for the 2022-2023 school year can be found outside Ms. Saulsbury’s Room 115. Applications need to be returned by Friday and interviews will be held in May.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award Recipients – There will be a luncheon in your honor on Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the Learning Center.  Your first-hour teacher will have a form for you to complete, and return to Mrs. Prothro.

Astra Club – 9th-11th Grades – It is time to join Astra Club for the 2022-2023 school year.  It is also time to sign up to run for office.  You may pick up a form to join Astra in Mrs. Prothro’s office.  You must be a member in order to run for an office.  You may sign up to run for office until Friday.   Voting will be May 3-6. Lyle LeadersFreshman, Sophomore and Junior Lyle Leaders are eligible to participate in a Historic Tour of Shreveport on Friday May 6th from 8:30 am til 2 pm. We will tour Historic neighborhoods, visit museums and explore cemeteries to discover the significance of our city’s history. You cannot miss any scheduled testing and must be cleared from debt list. Please check your schedules before committing to the trip.  Seating is limited, first come, first served. Permission slips are outside Ms. Waters’ Rm S112 or see Mrs. Prothro. Permission forms must be turned in by Friday to Mrs. Waters.

Seniors – Are you looking for a job?  Coca-Cola has some great opportunities available to you with benefits.  You may be looking for a summer job or a permanent place of employment.  You may be looking for employment while you attend college, and by the way if that is the case, Coca-Cola will pay up to $5,200 of your tuition for college each year.  See Mrs. Prothro for more on these opportunities!

Students – Mr. Badgley said there will be no more checkouts after 3:30 p.m. for the rest of the school year.

Boys and Girls State – Any 11th graders who are interested in attending Boys’ or Girls’ State, please see Mrs. Prothro ASAP.  The deadline is coming up.  This is a fantastic leadership opportunity that is recognized nationally.  See Mrs. Prothro for more information.

Sophomores and JuniorsDo you want to be the new mascot Jack the Jacket?! Go see Mrs. Zator in room S310 for more information. Must be a current sophomore or junior.

Students – AP CAPSTONE Graduation Honor Cords are now available for purchase on Local Level Events (https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/20187) The AP Capstone Cord is for graduating seniors who have taken and completed BOTH AP Seminar AND AP Research. Cords will be given out at Senior Honors Assembly.

Student Job Opportunity – Kumon Math and Reading Center

Fairfield Elementary Magnet Alumni Senior Class of 2022 – There will be a 5th-grade class reunion for students and teachers on Fairfield Magnet school grounds on Friday, May 6 from 3:30-5:30 pm.  We will celebrate with pizza and cupcakes. Then we will reminisce by looking through old yearbooks and by watching our 5th grade DVD @ 5:00.  We know this is an extremely busy time of year, but we hope everyone can make it for a few moments of fun!

Students – Calling the Class of ‘22 Southfield School Alumni! You are invited back to Southfield School for our annual Final Flag and Alumni Breakfast on Thursday, May 19 at 8:15am. Students – There will be a 5th Grade Class Reunion for graduating seniors and teachers at Eden Gardens Magnet on Tuesday, May 24 from 4:00-5:00 pm. We will catch up with each other, watch our 5th-grade finale video, tour the school, and enjoy refreshments. We look forward to welcoming our eagles back to the nest- we sure hope you can join us!
