Seniors and senior parents – Important graduation information has been posted to the Class of 2021 Canvas page in the Graduation Modules. There is an information sheet, as well as a graduation video that explains what to expect at graduation. Please review this information. Tickets for graduation will be available beginning TODAY.

NHS – All Juniors who are in National Honor Society need to come by Mrs. Strong’s room (S102) TODAY or TOMORROW to fill out the information and pick up your NHS certificate.

Astra Club – Sign up to run for 2021-2022 officers outside of Mrs. Prothro’s office.  There is a sheet on the wall. The deadline to sign up is FRIDAY.  CLICK HERE for the membership form.  Dues are $20.

StudentsLacrosse next event will be Super 8 in Lafayette at STM the weekend of May 8-9. The Final 4 will be May 15-16 right here in Shreveport at Lee Hedges!

Seniors – The Senior Honors Assembly will be Monday, May 10 at 1:30 pm in the auditorium. Only students receiving honor cords and awards will attend. Students are allowed to invite two guests each. See Mrs. Byrd if you have any questions.

Softball Tryouts – There is a mandatory parent meeting on May 19 via zoom.  Tryouts will be on May 20 from 4:30 until 6:30 pm.  Email Coach Ford by May 10 for more info and to received LHSAA physical form at aford@caddoschools.org.

Volleyball Tryouts – Freshmen tryouts will be May 12 from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Upper Classmen tryouts will be May 13 and 14 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Seniors – If you missed picking up your caps and gowns and diploma covers, you may pick them up at Graduate Sales, 3524 Youree Drive.  They are open Monday through Friday from 1:00-4:00 pm, 865-0409.

Seniors – Please check the Class of 2021 names list in your English class or the Class of 2021 Canvas page. You need to verify that your name is spelled correctly for the graduation program as well as your diploma. If there are any errors, please notify Mrs. Byrd at asbyrd@caddoschools.org.

Seniors – REMINDER – You may purchasing honor graduate cords and Math/Science Magnet stoles and Honor cords in the Counseling Office only during lunch. You must have exact change and cash only (no checks) Honor graduate cords $10 and Math/Science Magnet stoles $16.

Z-Club is now accepting applications for new members for the next school year. Z-Club is a service club open to incoming sophomores, juniors, and seniors. New members are selected by student vote and teacher vote. CLICK HERE for form.

Gusher Yearbooks are here and will be distributed soon! Attached is the list of students who have purchased their 2021 yearbook. At the bottom are the layaways that we have received. Upcoming Deadlines:

The Home Builders Association of Northwest Louisiana/Michael J Penn memorial scholarship application is available. This one-time $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend a four-year college and major in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture. The application is available at https://nwlahba.org/.  Deadline to apply is TODAY.

Volunteer Opportunities:

9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Astra Club – Two schools have offered us the opportunity to work at their field days.  They are First Baptist and University.  To work the First Baptist Field Day, you must have attended First Baptist.  All students must have passing grades.  Sign up with Mrs. Prothro or email her at MProthro@caddoschools.org.  You must provide your own transportation.

We have a volunteer opportunity for students to help Give Back and Geaux Pack Geaux Bags for children in foster care at no fault of their own in Louisiana. We are a non-profit out of Bossier and our pack event will be in Caddo Parish. We service 4,000 children a year in Louisiana and need help packing Geaux Bags for them.
