The Yellow Jackets saved the best for last at the LHSAA Class 5A State Outdoor Championships in Baton Rouge late last night. Congratulations to the STATE CHAMPIONS in the boys 4x400.—the last race of the meet. The team of Berekat Raines, Markeith Niblett, Wyatt Ditt, and Jordan Blakes won with a time of 3:17.25 knocking off defending champion Catholic (3:17.26). It’s the first time since 2012 a Caddo Parish 4x400 relay team has won the event, and the first time since 1966 that a C.E. Byrd team has won. Huge congratulations to Byrd’s own Class of 2026, Abbi Wilson! Yesterday, Abbi traveled down to Baton Rouge to try out for the LSU cheer squad and learned this morning that she is now officially an LSU cheerleader!
